Director, Economic Capital opening in New York/New Jersey. New position as member of the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) department. Responsible for developing the overall risk framework for the enterprise, which includes describing the company's risk tolerance and risk appetite and developing enhanced processes and models to set risk limits. This area also oversees the continued development and implementation of the enterprise's Economic Capital (EC) framework in partnership with a number of different areas within the Company. (The Company is implementing an EC framework to improve its risk management and capital allocation processes. This framework will be used as a tool to quantity existing risk exposures across the Company, to determine the amount of capital to hold against various risks, and to evaluate future business transactions. A centralized team leads the development and enhancement of the Economic Capital framework across the Company in partnership with the actuarial and finance groups of the individual businesses.) Manage significant aspects of the EC calculation process under the guidance and direction of the Vice President, Economic Capital; assist in coordinating the work of the cross-functional team that has been developing the EC framework, including setting priorities, defining expected outputs, and setting due dates for deliverables; overseeing the progress of periodic EC calculations across the entire cross-functional team and working to resolve any delays or impediments to the process; performing substantive reviews of certain of the interim outputs in the EC process to ensure accuracy, completeness, and reasonability; compiling the preliminary EC results into an overall EC aggregation and diversification spreadsheet, and ensuring that the output is complete, understandable, and reasonable; working on attribution analyses to explain the changes in available EC and required EC period-to-period; recommending and implementing enhancements to the EC process; working with the quantitative resources within ERM to ensure that key quantitative issues are addressed and the results incorporated into the EC calculation process; available as a resource to other areas of the Company to answer questions, provide guidance, and analyze issues regarding all aspects of the EC framework; working with others in the Risk Management Strategy and Economic Capital area on ad hoc or longer-term solutions to EC-related issues or analyses; working with quantitative and modeling resources within the Company to develop models or to refine or enhance existing models used in the EC process; working with others within the Company to develop, implement and refine controls around various aspects of the EC process.
